Holiday haul - Gran Canaria 2014!

Hello!  It seems like forever since I last posted on my blog, and I thought why not just blog right now.  So I've decided to do a holiday haul - well basically everything I bought on my holiday to Gran Canaria.  This is going to be part 1 of a 2 part haul, but I will put part 2  on later or tomorrow! Before I get started I just want to say, I'm not trying to show off or boast about what I got.  so lets get started...

Normally when I go on holiday I buy a load of rubbish and things that are pointless that I will never ever use or even look at again,  so before I went I made a promise to myself that I would only buy things that are worth buying and I would only buy nice, wearable jewellery (I used to buy fake plastic rubbish jewellery), and I think that I stuck to that promise, so here's what I bought...

1) A teddy Pug.

so when I went on holiday I took no teddies, for 2 reasons 1) I couldn't really be bothered and the one I wanted to take was to big and 2) there was no room in my hand luggage even for a small teddy.  I certainly wasn't expecting to buy one while I was over there but one day we went to this really cute town called Mogan (I think) and we went into this cute little shop with toys and stuffed animals, and I just couldn't resist, I absolutely love pugs, I'm obsessed with them, they are actually my favourite animal and when I saw it on the shelf looking at me I just couldn't say no, even if it was $15.95.

2) Sunglasses

when I went on holiday I already had a decent pair of sunglasses  - well I say decent they were from Primark, but they were good enough.  my style is really really weird, I like wearing things that nobody else would, I'm quite bold and like to make a statement when it comes to fashion, and I absolute love fashion, but if something is in fashion I'd wear it but with a completely different look (if that makes sense), I just like to be different! so I decided that I wanted really small circular sunglasses (a bit like Elton John style glasses) so we looked EVERYWHERE for them, and I couldn't find them, so I decided to go for another option, of ray bans (I think that's what they're called) and these are in fashion at the minute, so I decided to get some of them, however I decided that I didn't want plain black ones or a predictable colour I wanted was PINK so my nan said that she would get them for me :) These where $8.

P.S. ignore my face, just focus on the glasses - thanks!

3) a sarong and sarong clip.

Before I go on to talk about my sarong, please note, this one is not mine, it's my sisters, I think mine is still in the suit-case, mine is pink, purple and blue and has white butterflies on but it is my clip...
I have never owned a sarong before, and OMG, I was soooo missing out, this has been my holiday saviour literally.  I have never even thought about getting a sarong on holiday before - or in England!
One day when we were at the beach, it was boiling and all I was wearing was my bikini, plus I had really bad sunburn on my shoulders so I decided to go in the little shops on the beach to look for a sarong, I saw a really nice one, so my nan bought it for me, while we where in the shop I noticed that all the sarongs on display had clips to tie them instead of tying big knots on the side and they looked really cute so mu nan bought me one of them as well - she's so nice.  After that, I never had kit off and it protected me against the sun really well, I'm defo taking it next year with me!!!  I'm not too sure how much the sarong was I think it was around $12 and the clip was $2.99

4) silver/pink bracelet.

Before we went on holiday I bought some bracelets from Cares one was pink and said love on and the other was blue and said peace on, I wore them everyday and when I didn't have them on I felt naked.  A soon as we arrived the heat hit us - including my bracelets and because they had fake silver were the words were, the silver started to make my wrists go green and the heat was melting the pink and blue bits of my bracelets onto my skin, so I decided to get a new bracelet in Gran Caneria.  While we
were in Mogan we went into a small shop which sold bags and bracelets, we went in and at the door of the shop there where a large table with the most beautiful bracelets ever, as soon as we went in my dad said "Shannon, look, you'd like these" and as soon as I saw it I decided I needed one so I picked a pink one.  This was $7 and although that might seem quite expensive it was completely worth it because I haven't had it off since I bought it!!!

5) blue love heart bracelet

While at the market in Mogan my nan decided to treat me AGAIN!  This time she bought me and my sister blue bracelets, I chose a love heart one and my sister chose a butterfly one.  My mum also bought a love heart bracelet and matching earrings.  I really like this bracelet because I like the colour of it, it was $6.

6) SWAG PANTS!!!!!

I think that these are the best bus of the whole holiday + I have a story to go with why I like them...
ok so... when I went to France with school, the minute we crossed the border the coach crashed into the biggest van I've ever seen,  all of a sudden this man with the coolest pants EVER gets out of the van, now trust me, his pants were actually amazing, as soon as he got out of the van I screamed "OMG LOOK HOW SWAG HIS PANTS ARE!!!" then everyone came running over to my window looking at his pants, to be honest I think I was the only one who really liked them, so as soon as I got back to England I went on a mission to find some pants like them, at first I thought I would have to make them myself out of curtains, because I couldn't find them anywhere! I was so upset, but I soon got over it because the next trip into Primark I noticed some exactly like them!  I was so happy, and they were only £12 each, which if I'm perfectly honest is a bit expensive for Primark, but it would be worth every single penny, so I went over and showed them to my mum, and the fist thing she said was "why do you want them? I thought you were fashionable? I'm getting kinda worried about you!" I took a lot to persuade her but eventually she said I could have a pair and better still, she would buy me some - even though I did promise her that I wouldn't wear them in public! She bought me a pair and I loved them, they were the comfiest pants ever, and one day I even wore them to work!!! Anyways, when we went to Mogan, for the market the had some on 2 pairs for $10!!! I couldn't believe it so I bought a pair of bright pink ones with different shapes on and a pair of plain pink ones  with a brown belt.  we then went back to Mogan, but not on market day, and my sister bought some, hers were $7.99 and they were black and stripy, but when we got back to the apartment she tried them on and they were massive on her so I said that I would swap her my Primark pair for her black stripy pair, and she said yes, and to be honest the Primark ones do look better on By the way, they're not actually called Swag pants, that's just the nickname I give them, I'm not too sure what they're called but if you find out comment and tell me!

 7) a new school bag!

I'm really picky when it comes to school bags, I don't want one which is the same as everyone else's!  Last year, I had a designer one (Henry Holland) and it was the cutest bag ever, it had a panda on it and the ears where 3D and popped out at the front of the bag.  My plan was to just use that one again, but while we were on holiday we went into a shop, and I had been looking for a new bag all holiday and every time we went out I said "I need a bag, so everyone keep your eyes out! I don't have a type that I want, I'll just know it when I see it, OK?" and by the end of the holiday everyone was getting annoyed at me! so I went into this shop and I saw a bag that I really wanted but then my dad noticed it was 2 for 1 on all bags so, I got a bag for school.  the best thing about this bag is that I know that nobody else in my school will have it and it's a really cool bag!

8) A new handbag.

I had always used the same bag, everywhere I went, it was a small blue London satchel, and for my holiday I decided to use my butterfly rucksack, but I really wanted a girly handbag.  So I decided to go on a mission to get a bag! It wasn't until the very last shopping day that I found one that I actually liked, well, I fell in love with it! It's quite big but I'd rather have it too big than too small, and it was a bargain at $35 plus it was on 2 for 1 so I got this and a school bag (see above).

 9) New sandals.

Before we went on holiday my mum ordered some really expensive sandals from oasis, she got them in her size but when they arrived they were way too small so she kindly gave them to me, I took them with me and loved them, but on the 5th or 6th day of the holiday they broke! :( Luckily the next day we were going shopping, while there we went into a shoe shop and as soon as I saw them, I fell in love, I loved the colour, the sparkles, EVERYTHING!!! Plus they were only $10! so mum bought them for me.  I wore them soooo much and I just loved them, they came in different colours including, white, black and pink, I chose pink!
